Almost Everything but the Kitchen Sink

I have started a half dozen post between July and yesterday. There was so much going on. Summer vacation, school starting, marching season, work stress, and all of those are individual post. However, that requires time, adequate rest, coherent thought, pictures, and any other excuse I can think of.

Somehow yesterday the new school year started, and tomorrow is the first of December. We have been non-stop since August and despite being run just a bit ragged, I would not have it any other way.  Watching our sweet Emily Rose step up and own her Drum Major role this year made me appreciate how much she has grown from her crushing anxiety and self doubt. Anna also stepped up to be the leader I know she is meant to be. Joseph continues to just be brilliant and amazing.

Time is going faster than when they were little. There will be a time, sooner than I want to admit, when my children walk out the door. But for now, they are here with us.  They are here for vacations, and holidays. They are here for football games, competitions, and tryouts. They are here to complain about what’s for dinner.

So, even though I want to attempt to catalog each memory and experience, I simply cannot. Hopefully my memory will hold up as to record these seemingly mundane moments, but are actually the most marvelous of all at a later point in time.  Karri, you see what I did there.

I have made a conscious decision to put my initial energy into enjoying these quickly dwindling moments and simply absorb these moments. My life is amazing. A wonderful husband, brilliant, beautiful children, and reasonable comfort. I cannot wait to see what comes next.

Just stop. Look around and take nothing or no one for granted. Life is a miracle. Listen to music. Dance. Laugh. Love.
